During a private lesson, the teacher guides the student through movements such as sitting, walking, standing, lying down and other activities by using a non-manipulative, gentle touch with visual and verbal explanations. The first lesson lasts an hour and following lessons last for 30-45 minutes. Students wear comfortable clothing that they can move in (no tight pants or skirts). The content of the lesson varies from student to student and changes from lesson to lesson as a student incorporates new information and creates changes.
While working on the table, the student is allowing her head to lead and her spine to follow the movement of her head.
Here she is allowing her legs to release away from her torso.
In this part of the lesson, she is allowing herself to lengthen and widen in stature, as she is about to sit in a chair.
Following movement exploration in the chair, she wants to clarify some questions about the structure and joints of the arms.
