Susan Pfeffer is a graduate of the American Center for the Alexander Technique and a member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique. She possesses a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College with concentrations in Theater, Poetry and Art History and is an MFA candidate in Naropa University’s Contemporary Performance Theater program. In addition to instructing in the Theater Departments at Florida International University and New World School of the Arts, Susan has taught at the Naples Philharmonic Young Conductor’s Institute, University of Miami, Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist’s Studio, Arts for Learning, and many other organizations in South Florida. Susan first learned of Alexander Technique from her grandfather, a violinist and landscape architect, who studied to alleviate back pain and improve his performance. She operates her private practice in Boulder, CO and Miami, FL. In addition to her continuing education in the Alexander Technique, Susan has experienced and is influenced by Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Feldenkrais, Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation, Energy Medicine, and other works of the mind, body and spirit.
